Since pacemakers have electrical circuitry, they can be interfered by strong electromagnetic waves.<\/p>\n<p>Hence it will be ideal that a walkie-talkie is not placed very near the location on the chest where the pacemaker is implanted. The same precautions would apply to ham radio or amatuer radio operators and those who use digital mobile radio (DMR). If we can keep it sufficiently away, it can be prevented from interfering the pacemaker function.
