But it need not manifest at birth and may even be detected decades later as some are asymptomatic. Severe forms of congenital heart disease may start manifesting soon after birth and may sometimes be fatal in early life.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><i><b>What are the common manifestations of congenital heart disease?<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Congenital heart disease can manifest with breathlessness, bluish discoloration (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">blue baby<\/span>), head sweating, failure to grow well (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">failure to thrive<\/span>) or undue movements or prominence of the chest.
