അങ്ങനെ ഈ ഒട്ടുമാവിൽ നിന്ന് രണ്ട് മാങ്ങകൾ കിട്ടി!

അങ്ങനെ ഏറെ നാളത്തെ കാത്തിരിപ്പിന് ശേഷം ഇന്ന് ഈ ഒട്ടുമാവിൽ നിന്ന് രണ്ട് മാങ്ങകൾ പറിച്ചെടുത്തു. കഴിഞ്ഞ കൊല്ലം ഈ ഒട്ടു മാവ് രണ്ട് തവണ പൂത്തിരുന്നു.ആദ്യം ഉണ്ടായ കണ്ണിമാങ്ങകൾ എല്ലാം കൊഴിഞ്ഞു പോയി. രണ്ടാമത്തെ തവണ ഒരു മാങ്ങ വലുതായി വന്നെങ്കിലും പിന്നീട് കേടായി പോയി. ഇത്തവണ രണ്ട് മാങ്ങകൾ വളർന്നു വലുതായി. ഇന്ന് പറിച്ചെടുത്തു, കറിക്കെടുക്കാം എന്ന് കരുതി. പഴുക്കാൻ നിറുത്തിയാൽ ചിലപ്പോൾ കിളികൾ കൊണ്ടുപോകും. അതുമല്ലെങ്കിൽ ചിലപ്പോൾ കഴിഞ്ഞ കൊല്ലത്തെ പോലെ കേടു വന്നു പോയാലോ? വീണ്ടും പൂക്കളുണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്. കുറെ വളരെ ചെറിയ കണ്ണിമാങ്ങകളും ഉണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ വളരുമോ എന്ന് സംശയമാണ്, അത്രക്കുണ്ട് വേനലിന്റെ ശക്തി. ഇന്ന് കുറെ വെള്ളം ഒഴിച്ചു കൊടുത്തു. എങ്ങാനും വളർന്നു വന്നെങ്കിലോ?

Finally we got two mangoes from this grafted mango plant.

So after a long wait two mangoes were plucked from this grafted mango plant today. Last year this plant flowered twice. All the first set of buds fell off. The second time a mango became bigger but later went bad. This time the two mangoes grew bigger. Picked them up today, thought we will use it for cooking. If kept to ripen, birds might take them away. Or else, what if they get damaged like last year? There are more flowers to be seen. There are also some tiny mangoes. But it is doubtful whether they will grow, so hot is this summer. Poured some water today hoping that some of them might grow up.
