ആറു തവണ പ്രൂൺ ചെയ്ത പപ്പായ നന്നായി കായ്ക്കുന്നുണ്ട്!

മതിൽകെട്ടിന് മുകളിലേക്ക് വളരുമ്പോൾ പപ്പായ പ്രൂൺ ചെയ്യുകയാണ് പതിവ്. അതിന് മുകളിലോട്ട് വളർന്നാൽ പപ്പായ പറിക്കാൻ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടാവും, അടുത്ത പറമ്പിലേക്ക് ഇലകൾ വീഴുകയും ചെയ്യും. ഒരിക്കൽ വളരെ താഴെ വെച്ച് പ്രൂൺ ചെയത ശേഷം വീണ്ടും വളർന്നപ്പോഴുള്ള വളവ് താഴെ കാണാം. ഇത്രയേറെ തവണ പ്രൂൺ ചെയ്തിട്ടും, ഇപ്പോഴും നന്നായി കായ്ക്കുണ്ട്. നന്ദിസൂചകമായി ഇന്ന് തടമെടുത്ത് ഇന്നലെ വാങ്ങിച്ച സൂപ്പർ മീൽ വളം ഇട്ടു കൊടുത്തു. നല്ലവണ്ണം കായകൾ ഉള്ള സമയത്ത് പ്രൂൺ ചെയ്യേണ്ടി വന്നാൽ കൂമ്പ് നുള്ളുക മാത്രമാണ് ചെയ്യാറ്. തടി വെട്ടാറില്ല. എന്നാലും ഈ പപ്പായ ചെടിയോട് ഒരുപാട് നന്നിയുണ്ട്.
