ബ്രസീലിയൻ സ്നോ ഫ്ലവർ, സ്നോബോൾ

ഈ ചെടിയെ പറ്റി ഗൂഗിൾ ലെൻസ് ഉപയോഗിച്ച് തിരഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ വളരെ രസകരമായ പേരുകളാണ് കിട്ടിയത്. എല്ലാം ഒരേ ചെടിയുടെ വിവിധ പേരുകളാണ്. Snow on the Mountain, Snowball, Brazilian Snow Flower എന്നീ പേരുകളാണ് കിട്ടിയത്. ഏതായാലും ഒറ്റനോട്ടത്തിൽ സ്നോ എന്ന പേരുകൾ യോജിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. കേരളത്തിൽ താഴ്ന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ തണുപ്പ് കാലത്ത് കാണുന്ന മഞ്ഞു തുള്ളി പോലെയല്ല, കൂടുതൽ തണുപ്പുള്ള മലമുകളിൽ മഞ്ഞു വീണു കിടക്കുന്നതിനോട് സാമ്യമുണ്ട്. പേര് എന്ത് തന്നെയായാലും, പച്ച ഇലകൾക്ക് മുകളിൽ തൂവെള്ള ഇലകൾ കാണാൻ രസമുണ്ട്.

Brazilian Snow Flower, Snowball

When I searched about this plant with Google Lens, I got some very interesting names. All are different names for the same plant. Snow on the Mountain, Snowball and Brazilian Snow Flower were the names. At first glance, the names with ‘Snow’ fit well. Unlike the dewdrops seen in the lowlands of Kerala during winter, it resembles snow on the colder mountain tops. Whatever be the name, it is nice to see the pearly white leaves on top of the green leaves.
