സാധാരണ കൂർക്ക നടുന്നത് ജൂൺ മാസത്തിലും, വിളവെടുപ്പ് ഡിസംബർ മാസത്തിലുമാണ് ഏകദേശ പതിവ്. ഇത്തവണ വിളവെടുപ്പിന് സമയമായ കൂർക്ക ചെടിയുടെ തലപ്പുകൾ നുള്ളിയെടുത്ത് കുറച്ച് ചെടിച്ചട്ടികളിൽ നട്ടു നോക്കി. പ്രതീക്ഷക്ക് വിപരീതമായി അവ തഴച്ചു വളരുന്നുണ്ട്. ചെടിച്ചട്ടികളുടെ പുറത്തേക്കെത്തി തണ്ടുകൾ. ഇനിയിപ്പോൾ വിളവെടുപ്പിന് അടുത്ത ഡിസംബർ വരെ കാത്തിരിക്കേണ്ടി വരുമോ? അത്രയും നാൾ ഈ ചെടികൾ പിടിച്ചു നിൽക്കുമോ? ഞാൻ ഇത് വരെ മറ്റു സീസണിൽ കൂർക്ക മാർക്കറ്റിൽ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല. ഏതായാലും മാർച്ച് മാസത്തിൽ കൂർക്ക ചെടികൾ തഴച്ചു വളരുന്നത് കാണാൻ കൗതുകമുണ്ട്.

Will Chinese Potato plants thrive in this season?

Usually, Chinese Potato is planted in the month of June and harvested in the month of December. This time I pinched the tops of Chinese Potato plants and planted them in a few garden pots. Contrary to expectations, they are thriving well even in the scorching heat of March! Stems have started sticking out of pots. Will we now have to wait until next December to harvest? Will these plants last that long? I have never seen Chinese Potato in the market in other seasons till now.
