ചെടിച്ചട്ടികളിലെ വെണ്ട ചെടികൾ മൊട്ടിട്ടു തുടങ്ങി

കുറച്ച് നാളായി ഇവിടെ ചെടിച്ചട്ടികളിൽ വെണ്ട നന്നായി വളരാറില്ല. മുൻപ് ഒരാൾ പൊക്കത്തിൽ അധികം വളരുകയും, നന്നായി കായ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. പോട്ടിങ് മിക്സിലെ വളം തീർന്നു പോയതായിരിക്കും കാരണം എന്ന് കരുതി ഇത്തവണ നടുന്നതിന് മുൻപ് എല്ലുപൊടിയും വേപ്പിൻ പിണ്ണാക്കും ചേർത്ത് കൊടുത്തു. വേപ്പിൻ പിണ്ണാക്ക് രോഗ പ്രതിരോധ ശക്തി വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുമെന്ന് വികാസ്‌പീടികയിൽ വായിച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്തായാലും ഇത്തവണ ചെടികളുടെ വളർച്ച മെച്ചപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. വലിയ ഇലകളാണ്. ഏകദേശം അര മുക്കാൽ അടി പൊക്കമായപ്പോഴേക്കും മൊട്ടിടുകയും ചെയ്തു. പൂക്കളും കായകളും ഉടൻ കാണാമെന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കട്ടെ.

The Okra (Lady’s finger) plants in the pots have started to bloom

Okra has not been growing well in pots here for some time now. Earlier they used to grow tall and bear good fruit. Thinking that the fertilizer in the potting mix might have run out, I added bone meal and neem cake before planting this time. I had read in Vikaspeedika that neem cake increases immunity. Anyway, the growth of the plants has improved this time. Large leaves have appeared. Flower buds have come up by the time the plants are half to three fourths of a foot tall. Let’s hope to see flowers and fruits soon.
