രണ്ടാം തലമുറ മുളക് തൈകൾ

മുളക് ചെടി ഉണങ്ങി തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ അവസാനം ഉണ്ടായ മുളക് പഴുക്കട്ടെ എന്ന് കരുതി. നല്ലവണ്ണം പഴുത്തപ്പോൾ വിത്തുകൾ ശേകരിച്ച് ആ ചെടിച്ചട്ടിയിൽ തന്നെ നട്ടു. നാല് തൈകൾ ആദ്യം മുളച്ചു വന്നു. കണ്ടാൽ നല്ല ആരോഗ്യമുള്ള തൈകളാണ്. ഉണങ്ങി പോയ മുളക് ചെടിയുടെ കുറ്റി അടുത്ത് തന്നെ കാണാം. വേരുവുകൾ ആഴത്തിൽ ഉള്ളതിനാൽ എളുപ്പം പറിച്ചു കളയാൻ പറ്റിയില്ല. ഇനി ഇതിൽ കുറച്ചു മുളക് തൈകൾ പറിച്ചു നട്ട ശേഷം കുറ്റി പറിച്ചെടുക്കാൻ വീണ്ടും ശ്രമിച്ചു നോക്കാം. കുറ്റിക്കടുത്ത് ഒരു കുഞ്ഞു മുളക് തയ് കൂടി ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്. പറിച്ചെടുക്കുമ്പോൾ അത് കൂടി പറിഞ്ഞു പോരാൻ സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്.

Second generation chilli seedlings

When the chili plant started to dry up, I thought that the last chili should ripen. When the seeds were ripe, I collected them and planted them in the same pot. Four seedlings sprouted first. Seedlings are healthy. Stump of the dried chilli plant can be seen nearby. The roots are deep and cannot be uprooted easily. After transplanting some chili seedlings I will try again to pluck out the stump of the old chilli plant. A new tiny chili plant has appeared near the stump. There is a possibility that it will also come off if the stump is pulled out.
