മുന്തിരി വള്ളി മുറ്റത്ത് നട്ടു, ഏറെ പ്രതീക്ഷകളോടെ!

കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം നഴ്സറിയിൽ നിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവന്ന മുന്തിരി ചെടി മുറ്റത്ത് നട്ടു, നമുക്ക് പാർക്കാൻ മുന്തിരി തോപ്പുകൾ ഇല്ലെങ്കിലും, നമുക്ക് കഴിക്കാൻ മുന്തിരി ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ എന്ന പ്രതീക്ഷയിൽ. മുറ്റത്ത് നിന്ന് ഒരു വലിയ കോൺക്രീറ്റ് ടൈൽ നീക്കം ചെയ്ത് അവിടെ നല്ലൊരു കുഴി ഉണ്ടാക്കി. കുഴിയിൽ നഴ്സറിയിൽ നിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ഒരു ചെറിയ ചാക്ക് പോട്ടിങ് മിക്സ് നിറച്ചു. പോട്ടിങ് മിക്സിൽ മൺകോരികൊണ്ട് കുഴിയുണ്ടാക്കി നഴ്സറിയിൽ നിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവന്ന മുതിരി ചെടി അതിൽ ഇറക്കി വെച്ചു. ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ മുന്തിരി ചെടി വളർന്നിരുന്ന ഗ്രോബാഗ് മുറിച്ചു മാറ്റി. കടക്കലെ മണ്ണ് സ്വല്പം മാറ്റി വേപ്പിൻ പിണ്ണാക്ക്, ലെതർ മീൽ, ബോൺ മീൽ എന്നിവ അടങ്ങിയ സൂപ്പർ മീൽ വളം വിതറി. എന്നിട്ട് കടക്കൽ നല്ലവണ്ണം മണ്ണിട്ട് കുഴി മൂടി, വെള്ളവും ഒഴിച്ചു. ഇനി കാത്തിരിപ്പാണ്, മുന്തിരി ചെടി പടർന്ന് പന്തലിക്കുമെന്നും, നല്ലവണ്ണം മുന്തിരി പഴങ്ങൾ ലഭിക്കുമെന്നുമുള്ള പ്രതീക്ഷയിൽ.

Grape vine planted in the yard, with high hopes!

The grape plant we brought from the nursery the other day was planted in the yard, hoping that even though we don’t have vine gardens to live in, we will have grapes to eat. A large concrete tile was removed from the yard and a nice pit was made there. Potting mix from a small sack  brought from the nursery was filled in the pit. A pit was made in the potting mix with a soil scoop and the grape vine brought from the nursery was placed in it. Carefully cut away the grow bag the grape plant was growing in. The soil was slightly moved way and super meal fertilizer containing neem cake, leather meal and bone meal was spread. Then the pit was well covered with earth and water was poured. Now it’s time to wait, hoping that the grape plant will grow and produce good grapes.
