ചുവന്ന ചീരയോ അതോ സങ്കര ഇനമോ?

പല ചെടിച്ചട്ടികളിൽ ആയി വളരുന്ന ചുവന്ന ചീര ചെടികളാണ് ഇന്ന് കാണാൻ പോകുന്നത്. ഏറ്റവും നല്ല വളർച്ചയുള്ള ഈ ചെടിച്ചട്ടിയിലെ ചെടികളുടെ ഇലകൾക്ക് പച്ച കലർന്ന ചുവപ്പ് നിറമാണ്. മുറ്റത്ത് സ്വല്പം തണൽ ഉള്ള ഭാഗത്താണ് ഇവ വളരുന്നത്. ഈ രണ്ട് ചെടിച്ചട്ടികളിൽ ആദ്യത്തേത് കൂടുതൽ വെയിലുള്ള ഭാഗത്തും, അടുത്തത് കുറവ് വെയിലുള്ള ഭാഗത്തുമാണ്. രണ്ടും മട്ടുപ്പാവിലാണ് വളരുന്നത്. ആദ്യത്തെ ചെടിച്ചട്ടിയിൽ ഉള്ളവക്ക് ചുവപ്പ് നിറം കൂടുതൽ കാണുന്നുണ്ട്. ഈ ചെടികൾ മുറ്റത്ത് സ്വല്പം തണൽ ഉള്ള ഭാഗത്താണ്. ഇലകക്ക് പച്ച രാശി കാണാം. കോളിയസ് ചെടികളിൽ സൂര്യപ്രകാശത്തിനനുസരിച്ച് ഏന്തോസയാനിൻ,  ക്ലോറോഫിൽ എന്നീ പിഗ്മെന്റുകളുടെ അളവുകളിൽ മാറ്റം വരുന്നതിനാൽ നിറം മാറുമെന്ന് വായിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇതും അതുപോലെയാണോ? എല്ലാ ചെടികളും ഒരേ സെറ്റ് വിത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഉണ്ടായവയാണ്.

Red amaranth or hybrid variety?

Today we are going to see red amaranth plants growing in many pots. The leaves of these potted plants are greenish red in color and are the best growing plants. They grow in a slightly shaded part of the yard.

The first of these two pots is on the more sunny side, the next on the less sunny side. Both grow in the terrace. The ones in the first pot show more red color.

These plants are in the slightly shaded part of the yard. You can see the greenish tinge of the red leaves. I have read that coleus plants change color due to changes in the amount of the anthocyanin and chlorophyll pigments with sunlight. Is this the same way? All plants come from the same set of seeds.
