Plenty of green chillies – Why I am not harvesting?

Simple reason: I do not need so many for curries at home now. I am leaving them to ripen fully so that I can have plenty of red chillies, which can be dried and stored for future use! Before the chillies become fully red, they are brownish and sometimes I am worried whether they are ripening or becoming bad!
