അഡീനിയം ഒബെസം അഥവാ ഡെസേർട്ട് റോസ് (Desert Rose) എന്നത് വർഷം മുഴുവൻ മനോഹരമായ പൂക്കൾ തരുന്ന ഒരു ജനപ്രിയ അലങ്കാരച്ചെടിയാണ്. ആഫ്രിക്കയിലെയും അറേബ്യൻ ഉപദ്വീപിലെയും വരണ്ട പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഈ സസ്യത്തിന്, വെള്ളം സംഭരിച്ചു വെക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന തടിയും (Caudex), റോസാപ്പൂവിനെ ഓർമ്മിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ആകർഷകമായ പൂക്കളുമുണ്ട്.

• സസ്യ കുടുംബം: അപ്പോസൈനേസീ (Apocynaceae) കുടുംബത്തിൽ പെടുന്നു.
• പൂക്കൾ: പിങ്ക്, ചുവപ്പ്, വെള്ള തുടങ്ങി പല നിറങ്ങളിൽ നക്ഷത്ര രൂപത്തിൽ പൂക്കൾ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു.
• ബോൺസായ് രൂപം: വേഗത്തിൽ തന്നെ മനോഹരമായ ബോൺസായ് രൂപത്തിലേക്ക് മാറ്റാൻ ഇത് അനുയോജ്യമാണ്.
• വെളിച്ചം: നന്നായി പൂക്കൾ കിട്ടാൻ ദിവസവും 5 മുതൽ 6 മണിക്കൂർ വരെ നല്ല വെയിൽ ആവശ്യമാണ്.
• വെള്ളം: വളരെ കുറച്ചു വെള്ളം മാത്രം മതി; വേരുകളിൽ വെള്ളം കെട്ടിക്കിടന്നാൽ ചെടി പെട്ടെന്ന് ചീഞ്ഞുപോകും.
