Novel mode of pest control!

Today I saw a lot of mosquito like insects flying around my cowpea plant which had been growing very well. I was not sure whether they were male mosquitoes which are known to feed on plant juices like sap and nectar while female mosquitoes feed on blood as they need protein for production of eggs. I had sprayed neem oil with a little bit of liquid soap on these plants a couple of days back when I had seen similar insects and thought that it will repel them. Obviously they have come back. In fact this video clip was taken after my initial attempts at my novel method of pest control was tried a few times.

This is the novel method which I tried, using the mosquito bat. This mosquito bat operates on a built-in rechargeable battery. It was bought online and charged using a USB charger. USB mini charging cable comes along with it, while we have to use a charger of over own. I had no shortage of chargers at home. The voltage multiplier circuit inside the mosquito bat multiples the battery voltage several fold, to the order of 1400 Volts. The high voltage produces arcing and destroys mosquitoes when they enter the mesh with three layers. Some mosquito bats also emit ultraviolet light to attract mosquitoes. Of course, this method is useful only for persons like me, who have just a few plants and have spare time to try it out at leisure. Obviously it will work only with flying insects and not with crawling insects. Care has to be taken to avoid the flies flying on to your face or extremities.
