ചെടിച്ചട്ടിയിലെ ലെമൺ സൈപ്രസ് ചെടി അങ്ങ് വളർന്ന് വലുതായി!

ഏകദേശം ഒന്നര കൊല്ലം മുൻപ് വാങ്ങിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്നപ്പോൾ ഈ ലെമൺ സൈപ്രസ് ചെടിക്ക് ഒരടിയിൽ താഴെയേ ഉയരമുണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ള. കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ഉടനെ ഒരു പതിനെട്ട് ഇഞ്ച് ചെടിച്ചട്ടിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി നട്ടു. നന്നായി വളരുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇപ്പോൾ ഒരാൾ പൊക്കത്തിൽ അധികമായി. വലിയ ചെടിച്ചട്ടിയായതിനാൽ ചെരിച്ചു വേരുകൾ ചെടിച്ചട്ടി പൊളിച്ച് മണ്ണിലേക്ക് വളർന്നിട്ടുണ്ടോ എന്ന് നോക്കാൻ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടാണ്. എങ്ങനെയെങ്കിലും നോക്കേണ്ടി വരുമെന്നാണ് തോന്നുന്നത്. മിക്കപ്പോഴും ചെടികൾ അസാധാരണമായി വളരുന്നത് കണ്ടാൽ, ചെടിച്ചട്ടി ചെരിച്ചു നോക്കിയാൽ, വേരുകൾ ചെടിച്ചട്ടിയുടെ അടിഭാഗത്തെ അധിക ജലം ഒഴുകി പോകാനുള്ള ദ്വാരത്തിലൂടെ താഴെ മണ്ണിലേക്ക് വളർന്നതായി കാണാറുണ്ട്.

Potted lemon cypress plant has grown so much!

This lemon cypress plant was less than a foot tall when we bought it about a year and a half ago. As soon as it was brought, it was transferred to an eighteen-inch garden pot. It is growing quite well. Now it is taller than an adult person. Because of the large pot, it is difficult to tilt it to see if the roots have grown out of the pot and into the soil. Looks like we’ll have to look into it somehow. Often times when plants grow abnormally, tilt the pot and see if the roots have grown through the excess water drainage hole at the bottom of the pot into the soil below.
