മട്ടുപ്പാവിലെ കൃഷി കൊച്ചു സമുച്ചയം കാണാം

ഇപ്പോൾ പന്ത്രണ്ട് ഇഞ്ച് വ്യാസമുള്ള പത്ത് ചെടിച്ചട്ടികളിലാണ് ചെടികൾ വളരുന്നത്. നേരത്ത ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന അഞ്ചു ചട്ടികൾ ലീക്ക് കണ്ടത് കൊണ്ട് മുറ്റത്തേക്ക് മാറ്റി. ലീക്കുള്ള ചെടിച്ചട്ടികൾ വെള്ള പെയിന്റ് അടിച്ച മട്ടുപ്പാവിൽ വെച്ചാൽ മണ്ണൊലിച്ച് മൊത്തം ചെളിയാവും. കുറെ കൂടി ചെടി ചെടികൾക്ക് സ്ഥലമുണ്ടെങ്കിലും മഴ വരാറായത് കൊണ്ട് തൽകാലം വേണ്ടെന്ന് വെച്ചു. ദ്വാരങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലാത്ത ചെടിച്ചട്ടികൾ മഴയത്തു വെച്ചാൽ വെള്ളം കെട്ടി നിന്ന് ചെടികൾ ചീഞ്ഞും പോകും, കൊതു വളരുകയും ചെയ്യും. അത് കൊണ്ട് സൺഷേഡിന് താഴെ മാത്രമേ ഇപ്പോൾ വെച്ചിട്ടുള്ളു. നാലു ചെടിച്ചട്ടികളിൽ ചുവന്ന ചീര, രണ്ടെണ്ണത്തിൽ വെള്ള കാന്താരി മുളക്, ഒരെണ്ണത്തിൽ പച്ച വഴുതന, മറ്റൊന്നിൽ വെണ്ട, പിന്നെ ഓരോ ചെടിച്ചട്ടികളിൽ വിൻക്ക റോസിയയും, അഡീനിയവും. അത്രെയാണ് ഇപ്പോൾ ഉള്ള ചെടികൾ. മഴക്കാലത്തു നിരീക്ഷിച്ച ശേഷം വേണം കൂടുതൽ വിപുലീകരിക്കാൻ. വളരെ കുറച്ചു വെള്ളം മാത്രമേ ദിവസവും നനക്കേണ്ടി വരുന്നുള്ള.

The plants are now growing in ten 12-inch garden pots. The five pots that were there earlier were moved to the yard as they were found to be leaking. Leaky plant pots placed on a white painted terrace will make it muddy. There is space for some more plants, as rains are due soon, they have been put aside for the time being. If the plant pots without drain holes are left in the rain, the water will accumulate and the plants will rot and mosquitoes will grow in the stagnant water. Now the pots have been placed under the sunshade. Four pots of red amaranth, two of white chilli, one of green eggplant, one of Okra (Lady’s finger), and one each of vinca rosea and adenium. Those are the current plants. Further expansion will be planned after observation during monsoon. Only a small amount of water is needed for these plants daily.
