It is well known that the chance of coronary artery disease increases with age.
- When age is considered as a risk factor for coronary artery disease, more than forty five years for males and more than fifty five years for females are taken to convey risk.
- While considering family history of premature coronary artery disease, positive family history is taken when the disease has occurred in a male first order relative (father or brother) before the age of fifty five years or a female first order relative (mother or sister) before the age of sixty five years.
