Efficacy and success rate of ablation of AVRT

Efficacy of radiofrequency catheter ablation of atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia mediated by an accessory pathway, known in short as AVRT, is about 89-99% in various series. Highest success rate is for left free wall pathway. Lowest success rate is for posteroseptal and right free wall pathways. Overall recurrence of conduction after successful ablation of accessory pathways is about 7%. These can often be be successfully re-ablated at a later sitting.
