Onion peel appearance in tricuspid atresia

Onion peel appearance is the name given for the angiographic appearance in tricuspid atresia when dye is injected in right atrium. Dye moves from right atrium to left atrium through the atrial septal defect and then into the left ventricle across the mitral valve. From left ventricle it passes to the right ventricle through the ventricular septal defect.
