Unilateral clubbing – MCQ – Answer

Unilateral clubbing – MCQ – Answer

Unilateral clubbing may be noted in – Correct answer: c) Aortic aneurysm

Aortic aneurysm may interfere with the arterial supply to one arm and cause unilateral clubbing. Eisenmenger syndrome causes bilateral clubbing. Patent ductus arteriosus with Eisenmenger syndrome shows clubbing in lower limbs without clubbing in upper limbs (differential clubbing). Isolated aortic and pulmonary stenosis are not usually associated with clubbing. Clubbing can occur in these conditions if there is infective endocarditis. Then it is bilateral and not unilateral.
