Xanthoma tendinosum are nodular swellings over elbows, over extensor tendons of the hands and tendo Achilles.

Tuberoeruptive xanthomas are noted subcutaneously over the extensor aspect of extremities. Xanthoma striatum palmare are yellowish or orange in colour and noted in the palmar and digital creases. These are noted in type III hyperlipoproteinemia.

Eruptive xanthomas are small yellowish nodules with an erythematous base, anywhere on the body, associated with hyperchylomicronemia. They are found in Type I and V hyperlipoproteinemias.
