My Magnetic Mount VHF Antenna

This magnetic mount VHF antenna has a magnetic base. It can be easily mounted on the bonnet of a car or even on the top of the car. But I am using it to mount it on a window grill or on a multi-gym. Both being made of iron, can hold the base as well as provide a ground plane for the signals. As Calicut repeater is hardly a few kilometers away, good access is obtained even with internal location. I am also able to access Tirur repeater which is about 35 Km away. That is because of the high location of the repeater. I presume that this internal location will not produce a hazard during light lightening showers, though I do not intend to use it during a thunderstorm. A short length of cable and a PL 259 connector are attached to the magnetic mount for easy connection to the SO 239 antenna socket of the VHF base station.
