Are you ready for the top band in amateur radio?

What you are seeing in the infographics is the 160m propagation taken from Reverse Beacon Network over the past one year. It is obvious that most of the stations are operating from Europe and North America. A search on DXWATCH.COM, which hosts RBN told me that VU2MB from Noida is active on 160m, on FT8 mode. His QRZ page confirms this as well. VU2MB has a 160m dipole which is 170 feet high! No wonder he is working a lot of DX on 160m. Some other stations noted on the same site seems to be erroneous representations. 160m was the lowest radio frequency band allocated to radio amateurs before the adoption 630m and 2200m bands by many countries in the beginning of 21st century. 160m band has also been nicknamed the “Gentleman’s Band”!
