Listening to HADES-ICM (SO-125), the Latest FM Satellite

HADES-ICM (SO-125), the Latest FM Satellite was passing near my region today morning with maximum elevation of about 24 degrees on the Eastern side. As the satellite had been active yesterday with several reports on the AMSAT Live OSCAR Satellite Status Page and on X, I presumed that it would active today as well. Previous mention was that initially it will be active on weekends, from Friday to Sunday and later on 24/7.

As usual I turned my Moxon Yagi towards the East, somewhat to the direction of maximum elevation of the satellite during the pass near my region. I was hoping that E21EJC might turn up during the pass.

I could not locate HADES-ICM on Argentinian Amsat satellite pass prediction page. I set my radio to the nominal frequency of the satellite and hoped to hear something at the time of closest approach at least, as it would have only an output below 250mW.

Gpredict software had HADES-ICM and I was planning to tune Doppler according to the display on it in a laptop.

By hindsight wisdom I went back and checked AMSAT Live OSCAR Satellite Status Page and found that the last report of the transponder being active was at 3.31 UTC on 7th June 2025. The pass which I had tried was at 4:39 UTC, possibly meaning that the transponder was inactive when I tried. There is a report at 6:49 UTC from AL9D mentioning telemetry only. Hence it is possible that the activation of the FM transponder was only for one day or so.
