Surprise Note on VU2JN Technical Roundtable from UK!
Today I was quite surprised to see this note: “”Hi, Is this the same net I used to listen to in the late 90’s early 2000’s as a shortwave listener? If so it was very informative net that helped set me up for my full licence in 2002. Will look forward to this if it gets going again and will definitely join in, and have thumbed & subscribed. Many thanks, Daz de M0TTY.” That was mind boggling and gives us more energy to pursue with the roundtable on a daily basis. VU2LID/N8LI noted that it was Short Wave DXing, which was popular in those days.
Propagation on 40m seems to be very good in the morning hours. I could hear VU2DED from New Delhi, loud and clear, talking with VU2JF from Rajkot and VU2SMN from Kolhapur, on 7130 kHz, in the Ragchew Net. That was in spite of a subsiding G3 Geomagnetic storm from a solar flare which had occurred a couple of days back. Taking initiative from VU2TEW, I went and tuned my 40m inverted V dipole antenna to improve its performance. I have also ordered new set of RG58 cables to replace my waterlogged RG213, which according to VU2LID could have big signal loss. Anticipating many more friends to join the frequency every day for great technical discussions.
