Testing Spectral Spread of SSB output from Easy BITX
Used my FT-710 radio to check the transmitted signal and spectral spread of my homebrew Easy BITX SSB signal. 18 dB attenuator was used in FT-710 to reduce front end overload. Initial test was with the spectrum scope in the usual waterfall mode with the screen displaying the whole 7 MHz band. It showed the dense SSB band with 9+10 dB signal because of proximity of two antennas.
This was with the marker at the centre frequency. You can see the calibration error as most of the SSB signals are about 300 Hz below the marker. Dense part of the signal has a spread less than 2kHz LSB below 7050 kHz, the central frequency.
