Another ‘Lonely’ pass of ARISS
There was a good pass of International Space Station in my region today evening with maximum elevation of about 50 degrees and it was a Western pass, which is usually better for my location. As my Moxon Yagi for LEO satellite operations had high SWR, tried listening with CP22E antenna, which was just about 7m from the ground. I could clearly hear my signal on the downlink even with this limited setup, once or twice during the pass. Part of the ARISS beacon announcing NA1SS in modulated CW was also heard. So it was a ‘lonely’ pass of ARISS, with no other station heard at my location.
When I submitted to AMSAT Live OSCAR Satellite Status Page, I noted that there were no other submissions from VU land, again indicating that LEO satellite activity has been low over the past six days. May be the activity on LEO satellites will be better over the weekend. VUs in the South have an additional option of IO-86 (Lapan A2) during the weekend.
