Automatic frequency calibration of LMR SDR using PowerSDR calibration menu

Those viewing playback later please start at 11:42 to hear the net with good audio. Link to live stream here: https://www.youtube.com/live/TLnfKYissmA

Automatic frequency calibration of LMR SDR using PowerSDR calibration menu while Air Net India was going on. Needed multiple attempts as the signals would vary during calibration attempts and software would report ‘out of range’! After getting almost good calibration, suddenly frequency jumped, possibly because of inadvertent keying in from the keyboard.

Steps:

1. Start PowerSDR 2.8.0 with LMR SDR 1.1 connected and powered.

2. Take ‘Calibration’ under ‘General’ tab.

3. Freq Cal (Under ‘Calibration’): Frequency displayed there will be 10 MHz.

4. After having typed in frequency of 7150 kHz in VFO A earlier while Air Net India was going on, click on ‘Use VFO-A’ and then ‘Start’.

5. Needed multiple attempts as signal was not available continuously during the net (varying station strengths).

6. After getting good audio, clicked on ‘Apply’ and ‘OK’

Should work with any other known frequency with steady signsl as well, though the ideal would be the time signal on 10 MHz. That is why the default frequency shown is 10 MHz.
