My First Contact From Cost Rica With TI2CC 16783.7 km or 23219.5 km (Long Path)?

Started listening 20m early morning and noticed one signal on waterfall in spite of S9+ noise level. As I was not able to decipher the callsign in full because of the heavy noise level, I just asked ‘VU2JO QRZ’? on the frequency 14.205 MHz where I heard the person calling CQ 20 Long Path Asia. I got an instantaneous reply mentioning my callsign with ‘QRP’ and a 5,5 report. Though I asked for the full callsign, may be he did not hear me in full and signed off. A look at dxwatch.com told me that I had just worked TI2CC, which was 16783.7 km on short path and 23219.5 km long path as per qrz.com. As he was beaming long path, most likely he would have received my signal on long path itself. Moreover, it was early morning before sunrise here, suitable for long path grey line propagation. After my QSO, it could hear him calling again and could clearly understand that it was TI2CC. Here is a short audio clip.

Audio was recorded from within the radio into an SD card. As I am yet to receive an SD card reader, I replayed it in the radio itself and re-recorded into my mobile phone for transfer to the laptop. This method was quite convenient as I did not have to take the trouble of recording with mobile phone during the difficult DX contact!

Video clip shown here was recorded directly to show his signal on the waterfall display. I was using my newly shortened End Fed Half Wave antenna for 20m, one more feather in the cap for the EFHW!
