Happy to work 80m after three and a half decades!

I was active on 80m in 1980s with my CW/AM homebrew radio and dipole antenna on top of tall coconut trees at my parents’ home. Now in a city dwelling with no trees, I have being trying a lot to come on 80m band. Finally I have been able to have two QSOs on 80m today morning, with VU2MSA and VU3WEW. That is with a very low level dipole antenna, with one end at 2m, another end at 3m and apex at 6m from the ground. One limb of the antenna is between two buildings with very good ‘RF shielding’! Earlier attempts at loaded coil dipoles did not lead to QSOs, though I could get spotted on reverse beacon network on 80m and 30m. New project is trying to convert 40-10m fan dipole to a loaded coil dipole to cover 80m. I have added a loading coil to the 20m elements of the fan dipole today. Shall be posting the resonance patterns of the initial experiment in another video in detail.
