How Can You Use 75 Ohms TV Cable for Amateur Radio Feedline -2
|Apart from these discussions of my past use of 75 ohms cable and descriptions read online, I have used 75 ohms cable for matching delta loop antenna recently. I had homebrewed a delta loop antenna for VHF. Delta loop antenna has a higher feed point impedance and typically needs a 4:1 impedance matching transformer. As I did not have one, I used a quarter wavelength of 75 ohms cable as the matching section. With that VHF delta loop antenna, I could comfortably access local repeaters, have one contact through the crossband repeater of International Space Station and receive good SSTV images from International Space Station, both during high elevation overhead passes. I could also document lower noise level on VHF using the delta loop antenna.
