How can you view live DATV transmissions?
|How can you view live DATV transmissions?
DATV stands for digital amateur television. Though there are direct DATV transmissions occurring in different parts of the globe, I have been watching the Qatar Oscar 100 DATV World Wide Net on Sundays at 13 hours UTC. It is available on YouTube Live at https://www.youtube.com/@qo100datvwwnet9/streams. HD quality transmissions are available from a few DATV operators from different parts of the globe.
Qatar-OSCAR 100 has a narrow band transponder for amateur radio, and a wide band transponder for DATV, onboard the Es’hail-2 satellite. It is the first geostationary amateur radio and television satellite setup. So far it is the only one out there. If one has to watch DATV directly from satellite, a dish antenna with satellite TV receiver is needed for the downlink frequency in the range of 10 GHz.
