Recording Audio and Screenshot on to SD Card in F-710
|
Few days back I had posted about using SD Memory Card for recording information from FT-710 radio. The 32GB Ultra SDHC memory card which was bought online has arrived and I am trying to ubox it and use it for recording audio and screenshots from my FT-710 HF amateur radio.
32GB Ultra SDHC memory card comes in a plastic pouch inside the thin cardboard cover and this is the front view.
This is the rear side showing the electrical contacts. While inserting the memory card into the radio, this side has to be kept towards the back of the radio.
The plastic pouch has a thin peel away covering over the SD memory card, which has to be removed to take out the SD memory card.
This is a close up view of the 32GB Ultra SDHC memory card. Slot for SD memory card is on the side of the radio near the power on switch, which is of course on the front panel. A click sound will be heard when the card has been fully inserted. Insertion and removal of the SD memory card should be done only after switching off the power supply.
After inserting the SD memory card, the radio can be switched on. FUNCTION knob has to be pressed to access the menu.
Screenshot can be recorded by pressing and holding the MODE button on the top of the radio till ‘SCREENSHOT’ gets displayed on the TFT screen. Screen shot can be viewed in a computer with SD card reader. As my laptop does not have a functional SD card reader, I have bought one online, which is yet to arrive. Shall post updates later.
