USB 3 to Gigabit LAN Converter
|USB 3 to Gigabit LAN Converter
My old laptop has only three USB 2 ports of which one is not functional. So are my key board and touch pad. So I have to use external mouse and external keyboard, which means that there is no spare USB port to plug in my phone when I need to transfer images, videos or audio clips. I had to disconnect the keyboard and use the phone and reconnect the keyboard after that. So I purchased a USB hub which has four USB 2 ports. That sorted out the shortage of USB ports. I was using desktop computer earlier, with LAN cable for my up to 200 MBPS fiber internet router. But the laptop has no LAN port and Wi Fi internet gives only a speed of around 40 MBPS. So I decided to purchase a USB to LAN converter. I got this USB 3 to Gigabit LAN Converter and plugged in to the USB 2 hub.
The LAN cable was used to connect it to the internet router.
USB 3 can be identified by the blue colour within the USB connector, while USB 2 has a white colour within the connector. Actually I could not have connected the USB 3 to Gigabit LAN Converter without the USB hub.
I am happy to see the internet speed going up to 120 MBPS!
