Couple of days back I had posted about FT-710 AESS as a relatively recent HF radio from Yaesu. There is another version of FT-710 known as FT-710 Field, optimized for portable operations in the field. FT-710 AESS has an additional external speaker which can be mounted on either the left or right side of the radio. Internal speaker on the top of the radio and the external speaker SP-40 are combined to reproduce high quality audio using DSP signal processing. The audio output has a wide frequency range and has a three dimensional effect. It is known as Acousting Enhancement Speaker System. One can set the optimum sound quality by adjusting the output balance and frequency characterisitics of the two speakers according to personal preference. External speaker SP-40 is an optional accessory for FT-710 Field. FT-710 Field is provided with a carrying belt for carrying the radio safely during mobile operations. Like the SP-40 speaker, the carrying belt can be mounted either on the left or right side using the attachment tabs and screws provided.
