What are tinySA Basic and tinySA Ultra?

Recently I had described Radio Frequency interference in my VHF radio at home noted during evening times, but not in the morning. VU2TDD had suggested that I should find out ways to reduce RF interference. Now I have come across a device which can help us in finding the source of RF interference: tinySA Basic and tinySA Ultra! They are small spectrum analyzers and signal generators. The devices are based on NanoVNA which was described earlier. Screen size of tinySA Basic is 2.8 inches while that of tinySA Ultra is 4 inches. Both versions have high and low inputs. Yet attenuators are needed to prevent damage to the equipment when higher levels of signals are expected.

Telescopic antenna provided with the instrument can be connected to the low input and pointed in various directions to find out the source of RF interference. But never go near your radio when it is in operation as the high signal strength can damage the device. Moreover antenna makes the device prone for damage due to electrostatic discharge as well. Do not touch anything with the antenna for this reason. More details on tinySA Basic and tinySA Ultra are available at their website: https://www.tinysa.org/wiki/
