Grounding for My CP22E VHF Antenna<\/span><\/h2>\n

Last week I had installed a new CP22E VHF antenna. But due to shortage of time I could not install a ground connection for the antenna as recommended by the manufacturer. Though it was recommended that the antenna mast be grounded, I had not used a mast and instead mounted it on the fencing of first floor parapet, presuming that it would act as a ground. Today I decided to install a regular ground connection after discussing with my local Ham friends. I bought 10 m of 4 sq mm insulated copper wire and a copper plated iron rod about 4 feet long. The rod had a pointed end for hammering down into the ground and a nut and bolt at the other end. I connected one end of the wire on the nut and bolt and the other end was connected to the base of the CP22E antenna. The rod was then hammerred down in a gap between the courtyard tiles, to have ground connection.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
