After a lot of unsuccessful attempts, I programmed the activation frequency and tone to a separate memory channel so that I could send a 2-4 second activation pulse in the beginning. After that I would try calling with 67 Hz in the regular VFO, at 145.850 MHz. Activation and calls were limited to the time around closest approach as I use a fixed elevation\/azimuth Moxon Yagi, which is a very limited setup for working a satellite with nominal power output of only 250 mW.
