I thought of describing a center fed one and an end fed one. Center fed one has been described by W4RNL and end fed one by VK6YSF. A center fed inverted L for 80 m would be 65.5 feet tall and having a horizontal limb of 65.5 feet. Lowest end of the antenna will be 4.5 feet off the ground. As it is a complete dipole, it does not need a ground plane beneath it, unlike a quarter wave antenna. A parallel feedline of 450 or 600 Ohms impedance and an antenna tuner are needed for multi-band operation.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1514\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1514\" style=\"width: 652px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1514 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/johnsonfrancis.org\/techworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Center-Fed-Inverted-L-Antenna.jpg\" alt=\"Center Fed Inverted L Antenna\" width=\"652\" height=\"550\" srcset=\"https:\/\/johnsonfrancis.org\/techworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Center-Fed-Inverted-L-Antenna.jpg 652w, https:\/\/johnsonfrancis.org\/techworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Center-Fed-Inverted-L-Antenna-300x253.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 652px) 100vw, 652px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1514\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">Center Fed Inverted L Antenna<\/span><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The end fed inverted L multi-band antenna is a portable one and uses 7 m squid pole, which is a light weight telescopic fishing pole. Antenna is a simple light wire of 18.7 m length. It has been mentioned that wire length could be changed, but should avoid quarter wavelengths and multiples of quarter wavelengths of the intended bands. 1:9 voltage balun is used\u00a0 to feed to a 50 Ohms connection. A horizontal 5 m <a href=\"https:\/\/johnsonfrancis.org\/techworld\/what-is-counterpoise-in-an-antenna-system\/\">counterpoise wire<\/a> is also needed.
