They are used for changing the constant current and constant voltage in the output. They are variable resistors used to adjust, tune, and calibrate electronic circuits. These are designed for through-hole mounting on a printed circuit board.<br>It typically features cermet resistive material and can have up to 25 turns for fine adjustment.<br>Key specifications often include a power rating of 0.5W and resistance tolerance of 10%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Usual cermet preset potentiometers do not allow multi-turn adjustments which I had shown in the video on the buck converter. A cermet (from ceramic + metal) is a composite material combining the hardness, high-temperature resistance of ceramics with the toughness, strength, and conductivity of metals, used in cutting tools, electronics, and high-wear parts for its balanced properties. Ceramic phase is Tungsten Carbide (WC), Titanium Carbide (TiC), Titanium Nitride (TiN). Metallic binder could be Nickel (Ni), Cobalt (Co), Molybdenum (Mo).
