But it turned out to be rather simple, just by using a multimeter to find out which lead connects to which! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First step is to separate the leads and scrape off the insulation from all the leads. It will be seen that one side of the each transformer winding will be above the toroid while the other side will be below the toroid. Arrange the leads in an order so that the continuous ones correspond to each other on both sides, after checking continuity with the multimeter. We can call them as P1, P2, P3 and A1, A2, A3 for convenience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then all you have to do is to mount them on the PCB in such a way that P1 will correspond to A1, P2 to A2 and P3 to A3 on two ends of the three coil markings on the PCB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep the leads a little long so that they will project out well on the other sides of the PCB. Part of the leads on the mounting side should be as short as possible to prevent stray capacitance and inductance. Keeping the leads a bit long initially will help in locating them on the opposite side and soldering easily. If the leads are too short, you will have to hunt them on the already densely populated PCB.
