Then I thought of checking the VFO signal. VU3EBS had informed me that for 7MHz, his Easy BITX version 2 has VFO signal at 17 MHz. So I tuned in to 7 MHz on my Easy BITX and to 17 MHz in my FT-710, both kept near to each other. 7 MHz inverted V dipole was connected to Easy BITX and 40m full wave loop was connected to FT-710. I got the beat note from the Easy BITX VFO in FT-710 at around 16995.630 kHz.
