The Core Concept: Bidirectional Amplifiers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The heart of the Easy BITX is the <strong>bidirectional amplifier<\/strong>. Instead of separate RX and TX chains, the circuit uses pairs of transistors strapped back-to-back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>How it works:<\/strong> When you are in <strong>Receive (R)<\/strong>, power is applied to one transistor, which amplifies the signal from the antenna toward the speaker.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>When you press PTT (T):<\/strong> Power is cut from the RX transistor and applied to its twin, which is oriented in the opposite direction. Signal Path Breakdown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A. Receiver Mode (RX)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Antenna &amp; LPF:<\/strong> The signal enters through a Low Pass Filter (which removes harmonics).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Band Pass Filter (BPF):<\/strong> A double-tuned circuit that selects only the desired band (e.g., 40m or 20m).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>RF Amplifier:<\/strong> A bidirectional stage that provides the first level of gain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>First Mixer:<\/strong> A diode-ring mixer combines the RF with the <strong>VFO signal<\/strong> (Variable Frequency Oscillator) from CLK0 of Si5351 to produce the <strong>Intermediate Frequency (IF)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Crystal Filter:<\/strong> A &#8220;ladder&#8221; filter made of matched crystals that strips away everything except the narrow SSB signal (approx. 2.4 kHz wide).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>IF Amplifier:<\/strong> Boosts the filtered signal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Product Detector:<\/strong> Mixes the IF with the <strong>BFO (Beat Frequency Oscillator)<\/strong> coming CLK1 of Si5351 to convert the signal down to audible frequencies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Audio Amplifier:<\/strong> <strong>LM386<\/strong> IC that drives the speaker or headphones.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">B.
