Gardenia has started flowering again!

This is one of the two Gardenia plants which we bought from a local nursery. Both of them were growing well initially, but flowers were very scanty. In fact I had both them because I was very fond of Gardenia flowers from childhood. They were called ‘Sugandharajan’ in our local language, meaning ‘King of Fragrance’. That is because of the excellent, charming fragrance of Gardenia flowers. Naturally I was quite disappointed when the flowers were scanty. Unfortunately one of the plants withered off and is no more. Thinking that this one is a bit root bound, I repotted it and added extra cow dung manure and compost during the process. After a long wait, this plant has started flowering again and I am quite happy. In between the leaves had gone bad and I had to prune them and apply neem oil based spray which did work!
