They are Kerley B lines, classically seen in mitral stenosis. Kerley B lines are horizontal lines seen mostly near the costophrenic angles. These lines are due to thickened interlobular septa. Kerley A lines are linear opacities radiating from the hila to the periphery, thought to be distended lymphatic channels. Kerley C lines are reticular pattern of opacities in the basal regions, possibly representing end on views of Kerley B lines.
