RJ45 Connector

Registered jack is a standardized physical network interface for data equipment. RJ45 is an 8-pin/8-position plug or jack commonly used to connect computers to Ethernet-based local area networks known in short as LAN. The cable seen attached here is a CAT5 cable which supports 10/100 Mbps data speed. CAT6 cable also uses a similar connector, but can support a Gigabit LAN at 1000 Mbps.
