10m Band is Very Much Alive!

I had posted that 10m band seems to be dead due to summer doldrums and was waiting for the winter anomaly to bring back 10m band alive. Past few days VU2TUM had posted on X that he is able to have contacts on 10m. So I was on the look out for 10m opening and I found it today afternoon at 0800z, 1.30 pm local time. A41NN was coming here loud and clear and the band was also quiet, with only S3 noise level compared to S9 noise on other bands. I gave a call and got a quick reply as well. I have been monitoring for another 10 min and his CQ call is still audible loud and clear on 28.465 MHz. The initial video clip was his signal on the waterfall. Now you can listen to our QSO on 10m.

I am happy to note that 10m is very much alive today. 10m has been my favourite DX band from January to May 2024, after which it became almost dead. My friends, both online and on air told me that it is due to summer doldrums and will come back after September. Nice to see it open today, much earlier than expected. Hope it will remain open and give us a lot of DX opportunities.
