VU2VWN Memorial Net on 40 m

VU2VWN was a good friend of mine and a great homebrewer. I started as an Amateur Radio operator in 1985 with a solid state QRP which I had homebrewed according to the design from VU2VWN. Initially I was on CW and later added a modulator so that I could come on AM as well. VFO was using BFW 10 and final RF power amplifier used BD 139, running about 5 W. Vasanth left us 12 years back and in his fond memory, VU2VWN Vasant Net is conducted daily morning from 7.30 to 8.30 am on 7123.45 kHz, LSB. What you heard in the beginning was the net in progress today morning. I do try to check in to the net ever since I started coming back on HF with my new FT-710.

Nearly four decades after the initial homebrewing efforts, my homebrewing is now confined to antennas and I used a homebrew modified 40 m inverted V dipole antenna for listening to VU2VWN Vasant Net.
