Another Geomagnetic Storm in Progress!

Today morning during my routine propagation checks, I visited the Space Weather Prediction Center website by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States. There was evidence of a geomagnetic storm with maximum Planetary K index at 7.33, indicating a G3 level of geomagnetic storm. Planetary K index up to 5 is shown in green while higher levels are shown in yellow, light orange, deep orange, light red and deep red colours. Deep red colour is for G5 Extreme Geomagnetic storms. There was a G5 storm in May 2024 during which we lost propagation for local stations suddenly during our morning Pre-Belgaum Roundtable on 7050 kHz at about 6.55 am local time. Only stations within 100-200 km were audible then. Usually we get stations all the way up to New Delhi, over 2000 km, at that time of the day.
