Connecting PTT Line of Easy BITX to Pre-amp Board – Success!

As the RF output from my homebrew Easy BITX was quite low, I wanted to try adding an audio pre-amplifier to see whether it will increase the SSB output by increasing the modulation level. My friends had told me that the audio level from a usual PTT mic will be quite low and many BITX users are using a pre-amplifier board to boost the audio level. But I was not sure of how to take the PTT line out when I am connecting the external pre-amplifier between the PTT mic and Easy BITX. This is how I managed it. Grounding the central (ring) pin from the PTT mic will trigger the PTT. So I connected the central (ring) pins of the stereo sockets of the input and output of the pre-amp board using a jumper wire. The pre-amp is using only the tip and sleeve of the stereo pin (TRS – Tip, Ring, Sleeve) as audio inputs. Sleeve is connected to the circuit ground.
