HADES-ICM (SO-125): Latest FM Satellite

HADES-ICM amateur radio satellite has been named SO-125 or Spain Oscar 125 by AMSAT, as per request from AMSAT-EA. It is a 1.5U PocketQube having an SDR-based FM and digital repeater for amateur radio use. PocketQube unit is 5 x 5 x 5 cm, smaller than a CubeSat unit which measures 10 x 10 x 10 cm. HADES-ICM was launched on 14 March 2025 from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on board a Falcon 9 rocket during SpaceX’s Transporter-13 mission. FM repeater has been activated and there are a few reports today.

Power output of HADES-ICM PocketQube can be up to 250mW and likely to be accessible with handheld antennas. Uplink frequency is designated as 145.875 MHz, and the downlink at 436.666 MHz. No tone is needed for the access of HADES-ICM transponder. NORAD ID of HADES-ICM is 63492 and can be tracked on N2YO.COM, the popular satellite tracking site. It is also available on Gpredict software for satellite tracking.

AMSAT Live OSCAR Satellite Status Page has several reports of the HADES-ICM repeater being active today. I have seen four posts on X by operators from England, Spain, Japan and Indonesia having had contacts through the voice repeater of HADES-ICM. 2M0SQL has also posted the audio recordings.
